It is not very tricky process, a person having required knowledge of using the tools can do this replacement. Mostly used tiles are- glass tiles (used for floor purpose) and ceramic tiles.
Replacement process requires some tools like, cutters, tile nippers, grout, a large sponge, grout spacers, and a notched trowel. Since sheet tiles come with ready to install mosaics, they can be installed very conveniently and grout spacers are not required during the installation process.
First thing to be done is to remove old tiles from the floor of your bathroom. Removal of tiles is little complicated and ensure that after removal, you properly clean the surface and make it smooth for installing other layer of tiles. Grease cleaners can also be used for cleaning grease from the surface.
For having the estimate of number of tiles required for the job, you can measure the size of space. While purchasing tiles, always take some extra pieces as tiles with same color is little difficult to be available in future.
All the molds and fixtures like toilet, sinks are required to be removed from the surface. Take a subfloor (green board or cement board), fix it on the floor and remember that the floor should be leveled.
Actual work begins now. Start fixing the tiles by the side of longest wall. After fixing tiles, tap with a rubber mallet so that the tiles set well on the floor. For keeping even space between tiles, use grout spacer. You can cut the tiles with tile cutter to fix them at narrow spaces like for small space left near tub, toilet etc.
After fixing all the tiles, you can leave it for one day and next day with the help of trowel fill grout in between adjacent tiles. Remove extra grout with a sponge and run a mop over tiles. Then leave it for a week so that tiles get strongly attached to the floor.
Once your new bathroom tile is cured you can reattach the fixtures. Keep the extra tiles for future needs. You are now ready with new bathroom floor.
